Warnings

[edit]

Seeing as how Tropical Storms get given categories and are based on warnings. Should something similar be done when warning are issued on european windstorms? As in a colour is put with the storm for the highest warning it acheives. — Preceding unsigned comment added by A0957 (talkcontribs) 16:53, 30 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

It’s probably not necessary, since there are only two levels of warnings that can be for a windstorm, Amber and red. A red warning for a storm is probably a rare occurrence since it is only used when there it is “very likely” that a storm would have a “high” impact, and there is only one square for it on the Warning impact matrix. You can find it here, https://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/guides/warnings Bn5660 (talk) 03:00, 24 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Inverse relationship between North Atlantic hurricane activity and the upcoming winter NAO

[edit]

A statistically significant inverse relationship between North Atlantic hurricane activity and the upcoming winter NAO (inc windstorms) has been noted, and may perhaps be relevant to this season, however it feels a little too much like OR or synthesis to apply this to the article at this point.[1] Lacunae (talk) 10:01, 2 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

storm alex - corpses/death toll

[edit]

this article says corpses washed out of the cemetaries - looks (my quick read) like the were from french cemetaries and found in italy - I'm guessing there is more detail and better local coverage. seems like it ought to be mentioned EdwardLane (talk) 10:05, 7 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

At the Moment the Article isn´t well structured. Its not clear how many people died in which country. Someone should sort that out who has enough time and a better overview over the Situation. The newest Update claims 12 Deaths in Total, but that Number doesn´t include Austria, Poland and Czechia and probably not Brest. --217.24.224.52 (talk) 16:58, 7 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

On the first point, this will probably be worked into an article if it is notable enough to be made into a page of it's own. I think this page is more for a generalised summary. On the second, there is no centralised agency collating such material, and secondarily language barriers also play a role.Lacunae (talk) 19:32, 7 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Units of pressure

[edit]

I think I've raised this before, but why does this article use non-SI deprecated units for pressure, which are not applicable to Europe? hPa is easy enough to convert and is used in most of Europe besides a few places using mmHg. It's not as though it appears to still be enforced in the infobox parameters.Lacunae (talk) 19:13, 15 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Bella

[edit]

BBC have reported that A gust of 106mph (170kmh) was recorded at The Needles, on the Isle of Wight. Should that be added in on the gusts section for Bella? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.18.109.93 (talk) 07:40, 27 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Alpha

[edit]

Should Subtropical Storm Alpha be included in the other systems section I just made? Bn5660 (talk) 06:15, 31 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Zeta

[edit]

Post-Tropical Cyclone Zeta affected parts of the UK as a post-tropical cyclone. Would it be considered to be part of the season? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Xaxaxakurwa (talkcontribs) 01:00, 3 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Very little activity

[edit]

Christoph, Hortense and Ignacio have already dissipated several weeks ago; and Justine has already formed. Why do you have this stopped? --Franziska Jimenez (talk) 15:12, 29 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I’ve usually do a lot on this page, but I’ve been very busy recently so I haven’t really had the time. I was hoping other people would help do it but I guess not :( I’m working on fixing it now! :) Bn5660 (talk) 19:45, 29 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Bella Article? Filomena article?

[edit]

It seems that Storms Bella and Filomena caused great impact in Europe. Can someone create an article for Filomena? I am going to be working on a Draft for Storm Bella. Anyone who wants can come and help edit it. Also, just wondering if there is a satellite image for Bella? AwesomeHurricaneBoss (talk) 20:14, 21 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

There is an article for Filomena, but it’s called “2021 Madrid snowstorm.” This is probably the only article that is needed on it since Madrid is the area where it had the most notable impacts. Bn5660 (talk) 19:43, 29 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

2021-22 season?

[edit]

Why is there no article for the new season yet? I tried making it on my own but I don’t have the time, so it would be really nice if someone could make it Bn5660 (talk) 02:38, 20 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
