Biography

[edit]

Beginning with his teaching assignment (adjunct professor position) at the FHS College, he published a series of books on theoretical work in film and TV such as "Praxis des Wissenschaftsfilms (Schriftenreihe zur Film — und Fernsehkunde) (German Edition)" – or "Practice of Science Films (Publication Series to the Film — and Television Studies) (German Edition)" in English – Dr. Kandorfer has been releasing books since 1978 with the book "Lehrbuch der Filmgestaltung" (Textbook of Filmmaking"), published in 7 editions and used in many European film schools.[1]

In 1980, when he was working in the German film industry, he published "Pocket Book of Movie Technology" (Publication Series to the Film and Television Customers of the Institute of Film and Television Science, Dr. Pierre Kandorfer, Cologne) (German edition).[2][3][4]

In 1998, Kandorfer lost all his lifetime investments after a fraud that his business partner committed.[5] As a consequence, he was forced to sell his residence in Los Angeles at a depreciated value. Kandorfer relocated to California City, where he was involved in the production of a movie series at Red Rock Canyon.[6][7]

His books such as "Never Give Up Your Dream", "Everything is Just a Show", "Good, Kind and Happy", and "Less is More" reflect his attitude and philosophy of kindness, openness, honesty, and integrity perfectly. He considers himself a Minimalism-influenced Stoic, in short, a simple man. He is a proud Christian and passionate Constitutionalist.
