Morrison Asahi Hashii (橋井 モリソン, Hashii Morrison, born 21 May 2001) is a Japanese footballer who plays for Aylesbury United.

Career

[edit]

Early career

[edit]

Born in London, England,[1] Hashii moved to Tottori, Japan as a child, beginning his footballing career with Shusho SC.[2] After playing for professional side Gainare Tottori, he enrolled at the Gotogaoka Junior High School before graduating to the Rissho University Shonan High School.[2]

Collegiate soccer

[edit]

Having spent the beginning of 2019 with SC Tottori Dreams in the Chūgoku Soccer League, Hashii moved to the United States to enrol at the Hinds Community College.[2] During his time with the college, he was named as the top player in Mississippi, as well as the NJCAA All-Region 23 Team, as he helped the side to the league championship.[1][3] He scored seven goals in twelve games for the college.[4]

Senior career

[edit]

Having played for Al Hilal United in the UAE Second Division League, Hashii joined Singapore Premier League side Albirex Niigata Singapore in February 2021, signing his first professional contract.[2][5]

After struggling to establish himself in the side, making just one appearance, Hashii returned to the country of his birth, England, to join non-league side London Samurai Rovers - a result of his agent being the director of the club.[1] In his second season with the club, he was the highest scorer across every league in England, and upon leaving for Southern League Premier Division side Basingstoke Town in August 2023, he had scored seventy-five goals for the club.[1][6][7]

After returning to London Samurai Rovers for a season, Hashii joined Aylesbury United,[7] scoring a hat-trick on just his second appearance, scoring all three goals in a 3–0 win against Biggleswade on 10 August 2024.[8]
