Jack Colin Doherty (born October 8, 2003), also known as Shane Doherty, is an American YouTuber and former Kick streamer who performs stunts and pranks, some of which are illegal.

Early life

[edit]

Doherty grew up in Long Island, New York, to Mark and Anna Doherty. He is of Irish and Polish descent. He attended North Shore High School, graduating in 2021.[3]

Career

[edit]

On July 14, 2016, Doherty set up his self-titled channel on YouTube and uploaded his first video[4] on September 29, 2016 titled ‘Marker Flip Twice in a Row!!!’. The video shows him flipping a marker two times successively. His content mostly includes pranks, stunts, and tomfoolery, some of which being illegal. His other videos include ‘Floor is lava challenge at Walmart! (Kicked out)’, ‘Singing ‘Despacito’ on the Walmart intercom! (Kicked out)’, ‘Flips for a Kiss at the Mall’, ‘Singing ‘Rockstar’ on the Walmart Intercom! (Kicked out),’ and ‘Floor is Lava Challenge at Walmart! *Cops Called*.’

Controversies

[edit]

Doherty was assaulted by another streamer, Izi Prime, at his house. During a collaborative stream with Doherty, Izi Prime attacked his co-streamer in a seemingly unprovoked attack. The assault was brought to the attention of local police; however, Doherty signed a form waiving any prosecution of Prime.[5]

In October 2023, Doherty was at Corinna Kopf's Halloween party when he was involved in a verbal argument with other guests. Doherty's bodyguard attacked one of them. On February 21, 2024, Doherty was sued for assault and battery by Chase Gardella for the incident.[6][7]

On October 5, 2024, during a live stream, Doherty hydroplaned on the highway, crashing his McLaren 570S while reading his chat while driving.[8][9] The car was totaled on impact. This led to his ban from Kick. His cameraman, referred to as Michael, was injured and bleeding from his head.[10] Michael received stitches at the hospital.[11][12] Doherty was cited by Florida Highway Patrol for manipulating a wireless communication device while driving.[13]
