Ivo Hristov (Bulgarian: Иво Христов Петков, born 8 October 1970) is a Bulgarian politician who was elected as a Member of the European Parliament in 2019.[3] In 2022, he joined the Committee of Inquiry to investigate the use of Pegasus and equivalent surveillance spyware.[4][5]

Biography

Ivo Hristov was born on 8 October 1970 in Istanbul in the family of Hristo Petkov Hristov and Lyubka Hristova. His father was a military intelligence officer in the RUMNO, and at the time his son Ivo was born, he was working at the Consulate General of the People's Republic of Bulgaria in Istanbul as Vice Consul in charge of cultural affairs.[6]
