James Dokhuma (15 June, 1932 to 10 March 2007)[1] was a published author and poet.
Early life and education
[edit]Dokhuma was born on 15 June, 1932. His father is Hrangchina and his mother is Kapkungi. He had 13 brothers and sisters.[2] He went to school only up to Class-V where he always passed in First Division. At the age of 15, he joined the army from 1947-1952.[1][2][3][4]
Career
[edit]After the army he became the teacher of St. Paul's HSS, Tlangnuam, Aizawl as a teacher in Hindi & Vernacular. After that he became the Sanitary Inspector in the Aijal Community Development Block. In 1960, he continued as a teacher in the Hualtu Middle School.[2] Some people also call him Poet, Novelist, Historian, Biographer, Essayist, Lexicographer, Playwright and Orator because of his works [1]. Also, because of his book Ṭawng Un Hrilhfiahna, he came to be called "Father of Mizo Lexicography"[1][2][3]
