India's Got Latent is an Indian Hindi language talent show hosted by Samay Raina on YoutTube that provides a platform for contestants from across the country to showcase their hidden talents.[1] The show is inspired by the international Got Talent franchise and Kill Tony features a wide variety of acts, including singing, dancing, magic, comedy and other performances.

History

[edit]

India's Got Latent was launched on 14 June 2024 by Samay Raina on his YouTube channel.[2]

Format

[edit]

The format of India's Got Latent follows a similar structure to other shows in the Got Talent franchise and that of Kill Tony. Contestants perform in front of a panel of judges, who evaluate their acts. Contestants can either move forward in the competition if they receive enough approval or be eliminated based on their performance.

Auditions

[edit]

The show begins with a nationwide audition process, where contestants from various cities and towns participate. Those who impress the judges proceed to the next rounds.

Semi-finals and Finals

[edit]

After the auditions, the selected contestants compete in semi-final rounds, where they face further scrutiny from the judges and the audience. The finalists perform in the last stage, with the winner being determined by a combination of contestant rating and judges' average score.

Judge and Winner Mechanism

[edit]

One unique aspect of India's Got Latent is the contestant rating system. Before each performance, contestants rate themselves. If the average rating given by the judges after the performance matches the contestant's self-rating, the contestant wins.

Judges and Hosts

[edit]

The judging panel typically consists of celebrities from the Indian entertainment industry. Each judge provides feedback on the performances, while the host interacts with contestants and the audience.
