Basil Evan Jackson (born June 23, 1968) is a British engineer,[1][2][unreliable source] with contributions to fire and transport engineering. He is the managing director of Vemco Consulting Ltd.[2], consultancy that works in fire engineering services, highways and transport infrastructure. He was also a finalist for the New Civil Engineer Awards.[3]

Early life and education

Jackson was born on June 23, 1968, in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire[4], to Jamaican immigrant parents. [4] He attended Salendine Nook High School. Following secondary education, Jackson continued his studies at Greenhead College, he achieved three engineering degrees, including a master's degree from Leeds University.[3][2]

Career

Jackson has a career in transport planning and fire engineering. He served as Director for Highways and Transport at Bedfordshire County Council, launching a £200 million Public-Private Partnership.[4][5] At Cambridgeshire County Council. As managing director of Vemco Consulting Ltd[6], he guides the firm in fire engineering consultancy for local governments and developers. He also founded Quintory Estates Ltd.[1][3][4][7]
