Brunulphe I or Brunulphe I of the Ardennes (French: Brunulphe I d'Ardennes) (born c. 522 AD) was a Frankish nobleman and Merovingian Count of the Ardennes.

Biography

Brunulphe I was born around c. 522 AD in the Kingdom of Austrasia, Francia.

Brunulphe I's father, Walbert III was a direct descendant of Clodion, King of the Franks. Brunulphe's older brother was Saint Walbert IV.[1]

Brunulphe I married Vraye, daughter of the Count of Boulogne with whom he had two daughters: Saint Aye and Clothilde. The brother of his father Walbert III had various children which included St. Hidulphus, Duke of Lobbes, later married to Saint Aye.[2]

Death

Count Brunulphe I of the Ardennes died in Austrasia, Francia.
