The decision to move Skálholtsskóli to Reykjavík is made, with teaching beginning at Hólavallaskóli a year later.^[1]
Finnur Jónsson, bishop of Skálholt resigned in the spring. Bishop Hannes Finnsson succeeded him.^[2]
