Tsiartas

[edit]

I changed 'Tsartas' to his proper name 'Tsiartas' in order to link to his page. Reaper7 21:58, 29 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Squad changes format

[edit]

I've reverted the squad changes back to the former, more informative, style.

  1. Frankly, I find it bizarre to list a bunch of player and team names and then not link to them. If the names are notable enough to be included in the article, why not include wikilinks for further reading and information? Is the reader supposed to do a search for the individual names on Wikipedia or Google? This seems far from optimal. From my point of view it seems like chauvanism not to link to other clubs and players no longer in the club.
  2. To capitalize and bold *every* to and from also seems weird as it is not nice to look at. Labelling each coloumn In and Out and just write to and from in normal types should reach every level of readers.

I can see this style is being enforced in practically all Spanish clubs, and I wonder if it is an agreed standard, and if so, where this has been agreed? Poulsen 13:36, 11 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The 2006-2007 Champions League

[edit]

I don't think the paragraph should exist, specially starting with a highly subjective "unfortunately". There's no point in talking about something not achieved. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Pikulin (talkcontribs) 16:16, 28 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Transfers

[edit]

I have removed the list of recent transfers, as Wikipedia is not a news service. --80.36.85.186 19:49, 2 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

False

[edit]
In 1909, disagreement among some members of the directive board led to a split from which the team Betis was born; later in 1914 Real Betis Balompié was founded from the union of Betis and Sevilla Balompié. The story says that this split was due to the fact that Sevilla FC refused to sign a player because he was a "simple worker.

THIS IS FALSE!!! A LIER OF THE BETIS BASTARDS FANS! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.35.160.60 (talk) 23:03, 13 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

As for the 5th May, 2007 (2:33 am in Spain), one can read on the previous comment "The story says...", what clearly reveals he/she made it up. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.136.109.69 (talk) 00:33, 5 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
No it's true. By the way, let's ask people from Huelva what do they think about Sevilla being "the oldest Club in Spain". — Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.158.19.87 (talk) 10:04, 20 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Superleague Formula templates

[edit]

I've started a discussion about the use of the Superleague Formula templates on football club articles at Template talk:Superleague Formula following some discussion at Talk:Tottenham Hotspur F.C.. Since this article features the template, your views would be welcome. Cordless Larry (talk) 21:35, 31 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Too long

[edit]

This page is too long, there are trivial sections like players who died which are taking up too much space. The history should be a seperate article. A lot of the page looks machine translated. Indiasummer95 (talk) 16:24, 1 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

History

[edit]

Football begins to be played in Sevilla in 1890, it doesn't mean that Sevilla F.C. was created then. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.158.19.87 (talk) 10:18, 20 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I think the club was formed in 1890 given the detail in this piece[1]
RossRSmith (talk) 10:08, 2 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Anyway Recreativo de Huelva was founded in 1889: http://www.20minutos.es/noticia/432321/0/recreativo/huelva/decano/ --Christopher Simpson (talk) 22:13, 29 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Shirt sponsors

[edit]

Did Sevilla had no shirt sponsor between 1990 to 1994 or did Sevilla had no shirt sponsor between 1990 to 1992 with Super Nintendo appearing on their shirt in the 1992-93 season and then having no sponsor in the 1993-94 season? Wonderwizard (talk) 10:30, December 2 2015 (UTC)

About the pronunciation

[edit]

Is fútbol pronounced [ˈfuðβol] or [ˈfutβol]? Thanks! @Mr KEBAB: LoveVanPersie (talk) 08:56, 27 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@LoveVanPersie: This word has a variety of pronunciations and the issue hasn't been resolved yet. See Help_talk:IPA/Spanish/Archive_2#F.C3.BAtbol_with_.5Bb.5D.3F. Again, I'll take it to Help talk:IPA/Spanish. Mr KEBAB (talk) 13:03, 27 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@LoveVanPersie: No problem, but you often forget to WP:SIGN yourself. Eventually, someone will start perceiving it as being disruptive. I reminded you of that two times already. Mr KEBAB (talk) 14:55, 27 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
