Music Video

[edit]

In the music video, does anyone have information in if it was a legitimate attempt to break the longest line dance record or was it just for show? Hesacon (talk) 13:54, 28 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I was watching an interview with Alan last night. When he was asked if it was successful in its attempts to break the line dancing record, Alan responded, "That's top-secret information, I can't disclose everything," or something to that effect with a smile. It seemed clear he was implying that he did not break the video. A quick search only provides this link Line Dance Records.
"According to the current (Sep.2003) Guinness World Records website...

A gathering of 12,168 line dancers took place at the Happy Valley Recreation Ground, Hong Kong on 29 December 2002. The attempt was organised by The Community Chest of Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Dance Federation, the Home Affairs Department, Leisure and Cultural Services Department and Television Broadcasts Limited. They danced to 'Baby Likes To Rock It' for 7 min 40 sec. Oddly, Guinness fails to mention the line dance used, but I asked the right person and found out that the line dance used was "Baby Likes To Rock It" by Hillbilly Rick. Congratulations to Hong Kong's line dancers for setting the current record!"

The source seems less than optimal, but I think it is preferable that we note that this video did not break any line dancing records. TheHammer24 (talk) 14:40, 10 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
