What's in a name

[edit]

Is this the same orchestra that Amazon lists as "Babelsberg Symphony Orchestra?" Probably yes, but I can't find anything to definitively link the two names.

I'm listening to Haydn symphonies recorded by the Babelsberg Symphony Orchestra. I think they're charming recordings with good sound, but there isn't a single review from anyone for anything they have on Amazon. Interesting, because Amazon provided a lot of Babelsberg recordings for just pennies, and I bought some. But this unknown orchestra plays really tight, meaning they play cool, and when I say cool, I mean hot.

If I were connected to the Babelsberg Symphony Orchestra, I would begin by contacting Amazon and having the name corrected in Amazon's listings. Then, assuming lots of people picked up their recordings because they were so inexpensive -- probably just Amazon trying to get people started in downloading their mp3 products, I'd try to figure out why the masses of purchasers are neglecting to leave any reviews. Hmmm, maybe it's because if you only pay pennies per song, then people will tend to add the music to their collection, but not really ever get around to listening to it. That's a shame.

But at least get Amazon to correct the name. 75.110.98.103 (talk) 20:48, 16 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
