Anne Bloom (born Anne Pearson on April 18, 1947) is an American former film and television actress.

Biography

Anne Bloom is best known for her distinguished acting career, which spanned over three decades. She made her television debut in 1974 on ABC’s *Marcus Welby, M.D., and became widely recognized for her role as Frosty Kimelman, a television news correspondent on HBO’s Not Necessarily the News, earning four Cable Ace Award nominations for Best Actress in a Comedy Series. She also appeared as Judy, Parker Lewis’ mother, in the first season of Fox’s Parker Lewis Can’t Lose, and starred in the 1985 film The Dirt Bike Kid as Peter Billingsley’s mother. Bloom guest-starred in a memorable role on the first-season episode of Magnum, P.I. titled "All Roads Lead to Floyd." Additionally, she was a regular on The $25,000 Pyramid, hosted Totally Hidden Video, and was one of the first panelists on Relatively Speaking. She holds a Master of Fine Arts in Drama from the University of California, Irvine, which added depth to her career in the performing arts.

Today, Bloom is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over ten years in private practice in West Hollywood, Los Angeles. Known as Annie to her clients, she earned her degree in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University and is a State Board Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor as well as an Addiction Specialist. She also serves as an adjunct Associate Professor of Psychology at Los Angeles City College and completed her clinical training at The Maple Counseling Center in Beverly Hills, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, and private practice. Her background in the creative arts has proven invaluable in her therapy work, particularly when helping clients navigate the creative process. Annie’s therapeutic approach is rooted in Existential Humanistic theory, focusing on themes such as freedom, responsibility, and making active choices, with the belief that healing begins with building a strong relationship with oneself.
