Greetings - At WikiProject Wikipedia/Assessment, Requesting an assessment that section is quite long, and increasing in size. Time-wise it goes back to requests from 2022. Here are my questions:

  1. Is there any criteria for deleting old completed requests?
  2. Can 100-percent completed months be archived (or deleted)?
  3. Would it be Okay to make Year-Month sub-sections?

Over the last few months, I've added month dividers to help seperate requests, added Progress percent-complete, and added 🔶 symbol to mark past unanswered requests. I'm asking for help & discussion to improve the assessment request section. Regards, JoeNMLC (talk) 01:37, 9 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@JoeNMLC: thanks for raising this. I'm really surprised to find a "Requesting an assessment" process for all Wikipedia articles (not those under the scope of WikiProject Wikipedia) at this title; perhaps it's to do with the historical origin of the assessment system. Maybe a move to something like Wikipedia:Requesting an assessment would modernise it. We can then set up a (modern) archive system by year.
Do you know where most traffic to this page comes from? I see it's linked at Wikipedia:Content assessment#FAQ. I wonder if it's worth advertising more specific assessment pages like Wikipedia:WikiProject Television/Assessment#Requesting an assessment (which I monitor) or Wikipedia:WikiProject Video games/Assessment (requests made through talk page banners). Or maybe trying to streamline and provide links between project pages where these features are actively used. — Bilorv (talk) 13:26, 13 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
ω Awaiting - Any additional feedback? Or action to get this done? Regards, JoeNMLC (talk) 15:00, 18 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

New article: Disputes on Wikipedia

[edit]

There's a new article about Disputes on Wikipedia, i.e., content and conduct disputes among Wikipedia users, along with dispute resolution efforts. The article is mostly building up from academic research -- more than a dozen so far, though there are dozens of earlier studies that could be included.

To avoid arbitrarily selecting from Wikipedia as a source, it'd be great to have external Reliable Sources that cover the history of key WP disputes (such as the List of edit wars on Wikipedia) or describe the history and processes of dispute resolution efforts. New article draft: Readership of Wikipedia

[edit]

Before publishing this on Wikipedia I am trying to get peer review for it, to make it easier for academics to trust and cite. Until publication I have this preprint.

Readership of Wikipedia

If anyone has comments then I can take them here, my talk page, or through any non-wiki communication channel like email. If anyone has research credentials to do peer review and wants to review the paper in that way, then I can refer you to the editor for that process.
