"KP Baa"?

[edit]

I don't think this is WP:DUE. KP Oli is one of the most significant Nepalese historical figures, as a 2, 3, (4?) time prime minister during a particularly non-boring phase of history. Multiple books are going to be written on this subject. I don't think we should proclaim him "father" based on some pieces that press thought would be funny or whatever. "Father" is a title associated with the likes of Mahatma Gandhi, it is not to be thrown around lightly. Who exactly, and how many, have proclaimed him "Father". Anybody outside of his faction within his party? And will it make into the first few sentences of his biographies written decades from now? I think this fails WP:NOTNEWS, WP:RECENT. I feel this is a name given by a faction of CPN(UML) led by respected PM KP Sharma Oli and published by some medias keeping faith and respect upon him. No significance in common public or more than this. Curious boy np (talk) 08:26, 29 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Edit request after removal from post!

[edit]

The Supreme Court of Nepal has given decision for making Honourable Sher Bahdur Deuba the next Prime-minister of Nepal while incumbent PM The Right Honourable PM KP OLi is not fit to stay in the post as per the law. In this case, I feel some edits are required in this article including the removal of Hnorific prefixes and templetes at lower [art of the article. So, I request for the same![1][2]

Please remove "The Right Honourable" from the honorific prefix of this article. A honorific prefix is not applicable to former Prime minister. Similar is seen in articles belonging to other former prime ministers of Nepal. I hope this is a matter of common sense so requires no reference. You may keep in consideration, his term as prime-minister ended on 13 July 2021 which is already updated in the article.110.44.124.164 (talk) 11:58, 15 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Olis second premiership and extension of it as a minority role mistermed as third premiership

[edit]

Olis second premiership and extension of it as a minority role mistermed as third premiership

Oli never had a third premiership. The elections is happening just now and his tenure till July 2021 was still part of the same elected second premiership. Between may and july it was just a minority role and an extension of the same second premiership. All of the cited sources agree to that. One single user named as Yeti Dai is providing WP:BIAS and WP:POV and trying to push his case when all other users had already agreed that there is no third premiership. I have kept the section different and termed it as a minority role of second premiership. The only reason oli even stayed as a minority PM between May 13 and July 13 2021 is because opposition could not provide majority in time due to the president interfering misusing her rights which was overruled by the supreme court of Nepal swiftly. Any objection to the change should be solved via discussion here. Stop edit warring. 1BGhimire (talk) 09:18, 4 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

K P Sharma Oli sworn in as Nepal Prime Minister for the third time , ओली तेस्रो पटक प्रधानमन्त्री नियुक्त
Hope this helps. Yeti Dai (talk) 13:53, 4 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Both of these are NOT credible sources. All national news agency and the official parliament news bulletin DOES NOT list it as a third term. Hope this helps. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 1BGhimire (talkcontribs) 11:21, 8 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

KP Sharma OliK. P. Sharma Oli – per our house style WP:SPACEINITS. --woodensuperman 12:57, 16 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Support There is a mix of reliable sources using different styles. K.P. : [1] [2], KP: [3][4]. Since there is no clear consensus among sources, we should default to our manual of style as per guidance. Ca talk to me! 15:40, 17 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Support per nom.
According to WP:SPACEINITS, it doesn't actually matter which initial style RS are using. If most RS are initializing the name, then we use WP's initial style. Since this is a move between two initial styles, the ratio of initialized/non-initialized forms isn't being discussed, and the only thing that matters is that the new form is indeed WP's. 174.92.25.207 (talk) 18:23, 17 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Delete Controversial Claims Section?

[edit]

= I think we should delete the Controversial Claims section. We don't need to keep track of every single controversial thing he says. Leaders tend to say controversial claims. --ISometimesEatBananas (talk) 01:16, 17 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed, WP:CSECTIONs are terrible for BLPs, let alone a politician. Ca talk to me! 15:33, 17 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Keep The contents of this section are WP:DUE weight because they cite reliable sources such as the BBC. Without the section, this page may become POV in favour of the politician and misleadingly imply by omission that he is truthful enough to not engage in historical revisionism of Lord Rama and yoga. Alternatively:
I don't think split would work, since there aren't that many false or misleading claims. --ISometimesEatBananas (talk) 21:08, 18 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
However, after rereading the article, the POV seems to be leaning against him. Aside from domestic praise for nationalism and some objective electorial numbers, the rest of the article would be an attack page consisting of controversies he's involved in.
So I'm thinking the article should merge but keep all the points, but add important things for a politician like his platform and his achievements. 174.92.25.207 (talk) 17:31, 17 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose Each controversy should be captured. -Vijethnbharadwaj (talk) 08:04, 18 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Merge into other sections. Other controversial figures like Boris Johnson don't have a separate section for controversies. PenGear (talk) 18:43, 19 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • Merge into relevant sections - mostly the appropriate timeframe but some could be better put into the relations with India section. Removing the section without merging is not called for here. Ravensfire (talk) 22:07, 19 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

So how about we merge controversies with history section, and include the controversies in the order they happened? --ISometimesEatBananas (talk) 01:48, 20 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
