Description
English: Postage stamp of India (1982) commemorating the inauguration of a Tropospheric scatter (troposcatter) radio link between India and the Soviet Union. Terminal stations were located at Srinigar in Kashmir and at Dangara in Tajikistan, a distance of 685 km. The link operated on 800-900 MHz with 10 kW on each channel and carried 12 telephone channels, using Soviet made equipment.
