The book was first published in 1955 in the United States anonymously. The book entered into public domain in the United States in 1983 due to failure to renew the copyright (Michael Foundation, Inc. v. Urantia Foundation v. Harry McMullan, III. 10th Cir. (March 11, 2003).). The work entered into public domain in the rest of the world in 2006 due to expiry of the copyright according to Berne Convention rules.
