Summary

Yawl sailing vessel on port tack. She is a yawl because the smaller mast aft (toward her stern on the left side of image) is located behind the wheel (really the rudder post). She would be a ketch if her smaller mast was ahead of her rudder post. She is on a port tack because the wind is coming across her port (left) side before striking the sails. She is sailing close to the wind in this picture because her sails are pulled in tight/close to the boat.
