Description
English: Funerary banquet: from left to right, a servant holding a round object, perhaps a model of the Arsinoeion in Samothrace, a seated woman, a half-reclining man holding a phiale in which a snake is drinking, a boy cupbearer. Naiskos-style funerary stele with high-relief decoration ; epitaph inscribed on the plint: “Attalos, son of Asklepiodoros, greetings!”. Marble, 2nd quarter of the 2nd century BC. From Cyzicus.
Français : Banquet funéraire : de gauche à droite, une servante tenant un objet rond, peut-être un modèle de l'Arsinoéion (rotonde édifiée par la reine d'Égypte Arsinoe II) de Samothrace, une femme assise, un homme demi-allongé tenant une phiale dans laquelle boit un serpent, un jeune échanson. Stèle funéraire en naïskos avec épitaphe gravée sur la plinthe : « Attale, fils d'Asclépiodore, salut ! » Marbre, 2e quart du IIe siècle av. J.-C. Provenance : Cyzique.
