DescriptionJean Goujon Diane appuyée rur un cerf 01.JPG
The bronze sculpture Diane appuyée sur un cerf (Diana with a Stag) by Jean Goujon c. 1549 in Nobelparken (the Nobel Park) in Stockholm, Sweden. This is a copy cast in the 60´s by Bergmans Konstgjuteri in Stockholm. Another copy was cast at the same time and is in the Musée du Louvre. The original in the Musée du Louvre was lost during World War II, and the copies were made from a marble copy (in the Vatican) on the initiative of the Musée du Louvre.
The orginal was commissioned by King Henry II of France for his maitresse Diane de Poitiers to be placed at the Château d'Anet.
