Summary

Description
English: Great Orme Tramway midway station The funicular tramway on the Great Orme is in two sections. A funicular railway has two vehicles connected and counterbalanced on a length of cable so that one descends as the other ascends. An electric motor at one of the termini then drives the cable to which the cars are permanently attached. The cable is one of the factors determining the length of the railway. The tramway on the Great Orme is split in to two sections, the upper and lower parts being two independent funiculars with passengers having to change vehicles at this midway point. The motors (at one time steam engines) drive both the cables for the lower and upper sections from this building which has be heavily renovated and modernised in recent years..
