English: The 9"-aperture refractor telescope which was used by Johann Gottfried Galle at Berlin Observatory in 1846 for the discovery of Neptune. The telescope has an aperture of 24 cm and a focal length of 432 cm, so it has a focal ratio of f/18. [1] It was on display on the second floor (1. Stock / Ebene 1) of Deutsches Museum in the exhibit about scientific instruments from the Bavarian Academy of Sciences.[2] But due to the remodeling of Deutsches Museum, it is not on exhibition between 2023 and 2028.[3] No known copyright restrictions to photos of historical objects in a public museum.
