Talk to me, Andy Mabbett

[edit]
  • If you post a message on this page, I'll reply on this page to avoid fragmenting the discussion.
  • If I've left you a message on your talk page, I will be watching it, so please reply there rather than here (but do feel free to drop a copy of {{Talkback}} here).
  • If appropriate, I will move discussion from here to the relevant article's talk page, so that anyone interested can join in.
  • If you want to start a new discussion thread, please start it at the bottom of the page. Better still, use the "new section" tab next to the "edit this page" tab, or the link at the foot of this section, either of which will do that automatically.
  • Please do not make links from within section headings.
  • Inaccessible HTML (coloured text, "small" tags, etc.) will be removed from this page on sight. Broken heading or list structures will be fixed.
  • Please sign and date your entries by inserting four tildes (~~~~) at the end.
  • Start a new discussion.

Pings

[edit]

Just as an FYI, <this> also doesn't work - per WP:PINGFIX (and somewhere else that I'm not finding right now), pings only work if the edit adds new lines with the ping and does not remove or alter other lines. Besides the solutions in that page for fixing pings, you can also just "fix" the ping and ping them for real in your edit summary (though some people have that disabled, and that might link to the revision instead of the comment itself). – 2804:F1...EE:9927 (talk) 19:21, 11 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Changing a name on a page

[edit]

Hi,

I am trying to correct a name on the page Mary Ann Weathers but not sure how to do this.

Need your help.

Thanks. Liberationfemale (talk) 14:56, 15 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Mary Ann Weathers page

[edit]

I added as an external source the fact that the article, "An Argument for Black Women's Liberation as a Revolutionary Force" is also available in my book, "Inside the Second Wave of Feminism."

Do I need to do anything else?

Clarifying here

[edit]

I am messaging you here to avoid cluttering the Teahouse. I was not directing my message to you, but to the IP user. Perhaps, my conversation indent implied I was responding to you. I was simoply indenting to make the conversation more linear/readable. Apologies for any confusion. 13:53, 16 September 2024 (UTC) ~ 🦝 Shushugah (he/him • talk) 13:53, 16 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I wasn't confused; my question was rhetorical. Please use indentation to indicate levels of reply, not for "neatness", per Wikipedia:Indentation. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 13:57, 16 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Edits made on the Cell 16 page

[edit]

I made two different edits on the Cell 16 page two days ago. One was a quote from a book by Roxanne Dunbar-Ortiz and the other was adding her and my books as external sources.

Not sure what happened and what I am doing wrong.

Please assist.

Thanks. Liberationfemale (talk) 17:32, 17 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Liberationfemale: There have been no edits to Cell 16 in September. Did you perhaps forget to publish your changes? Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 18:45, 17 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I just re-submitted my changes and hit "Publish changes."
Hope this takes.

Okay. I just submitted another change and hit publish changes.
